Telephones
All Cyprus phone numbers have eight digits, the first 2 being the area code:
22 – Nicosia
23 – Ayia Napa, Paralimmi, Protaras
24 – Larnaca
25 – Limassol
26 – Paphos
Mobile numbers start with 99 or 96.
To call Cyprus from abroad dial 00357 followed by the 8 digit number.
To call the North of Cyprus dial 0090 and a mobile number or 392 for a landline number followed by an area code and a number. At present it is impossible to send an SMS message from a Greek Cypriot mobile to a Turkish Cypriot mobile.
Public Phones
Public call boxes operate either by telecards or coins. Many take both.
Telecards are available from banks, post offices, souvenir shops, kiosks and cyta shops in all towns.
